I was born and raised in Pemangkat, Pemangkat is the most
populous city in districts Sambas, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. In the Chinese language, this little town called 邦戛 (Hakka: Pang kat,
Pinyin: Bāng jiá). According to its history in the era of the kingdom of Sambas Pemangkat
is a trading place or settlement of gold miners from china. because that, from
the first until now many villages or areas in Pemangkat renamed by the Chinese,
for example shinam village, shisai, lonam kok, tiansho. Ethnic Chinese in
Pemangkat from among the Hakka (客家人) and the Tiochiu (潮州 人).
Things I can
suggest in Pemangkat may Tanjung Batu and Cap Go Meh(CGM) festival is done
every year on the 15th of the month 1 calendar china. On the Tanjung Batu
you can enjoy the beautiful sunset in the afternoon at the coast, and not far
from there you can find the hill there is the tomb of the Dutch generals van
den boch commonly known by the name of local people is OBOS. local residents said
the hill was very eerie and I once went with my friend, we were alone without
the company of local people. And my friend saw with his own an apparition. Well
if you like ghost hunting then this place is perfect.
Cap go meh Festival
is a festival where the people elected will be possessed by the spirit of the
gods and generals of the war in the past called Tatung, then paraded around the
city according to predetermined route. Tatung is a process controlled by
someone sporting spirit.
